Getting the greenhouse ready . . .

Inspired by Eliot Coleman's book, Four-Season Harvest: Organic Vegetables from Your Home Garden All Year Long, I left broccoli, cauliflower and several mesclun greens growing last fall in the greenhouse as well as some herbs. What fun to be able to harvest a few tidbits most of the winter!

This year there will be more experimenting - potatoes, garlic, onions, more herbs, many greens, beets, carrots and . . . well we'll see how much room there will be.

Sowing the small carrot seeds was a challenge. The following are suggestions on creating Home-made Seed Tapes: from: Organic Gardening, Thrifty Fun and Prairie Yard and Garden. All have a little different approach.

Today I will try this idea from the Frozen Garden blog. Starting seeds in a Home-made Seed Tape.
